THE PROBLEM

With the price of insulin rising, especially for patients with diabetes in high deductible plans, it becomes increasingly difficult for them to afford this lifesaving medication.

The National Diabetes Volunteer Leadership Council (NDVLC) wanted to launch an effort focused on educating employers on the importance of optimized pharmacy benefit plan design and its impact on the health of their employees and the financial impact for both the employee and the employer.

THE SOLUTION

Providing NDVLC with tools targeting large employers, employer groups/organizations, and benefit consultants with emotional and functional content to help facilitate the conversation about insulin affordability for their employees.

BRINGING THE CONVERSATION TO THE TABLE

This detailed presentation underscores the clinical and financial cost of nonadherence for employees and employers. It provides simple solutions for employers to help reduce the out-of-pocket cost for employees taking insulin. In order to make the dense economic story easily understandable, we crafted powerful messages and placed an emphasis on graphic design and infographic elements.
